From the blurb and the first half of this book, it seemed to be right up my street. Nazi Germany based? Yes please.
The first half of this is intriguing and gripping, had me wanting to keep following the characters and wanting to unravel the mystery surrounding them. This it did for a while, with me worrying about the female protagonist.
I would have carried on reading this and probably enjoyed it and the following books has it not been for the unexpected sexual abuse scenes. Not only were these unexpected, they seemed wholly unnecessary and purely added for a shock factor. One I did not appreciate.
From that point, I felt I could not go on in case there were more hidden in the story.
