I don't like the cover. It's a bit too old-school for my liking and it doesn't inspire me to pick up the book. However, I did enjoy the extract. The writing flows well and is very descriptive.
I'm not normally a fan of historical fiction, so I'm concerned this book might become tedious over time. However, the characters seem interesting and I like that the story seems to focus more on the characters than the war.
