Not at all up to the usual standards! Having loved the rest of this serious so far I found this one hard to get into and found myself constantly comparing it to the masterpieces that are the other books. It was disjointed and not at all smiths normal style. I wonder if co written just meant smiths name attached to it without any actual input from him.
I did enjoy following the family and their story but found myself less invested than I hoped to be.
This would have been far more enjoyable had I not gone into it with such high expectations. Unfortunately I do not think I would read another if the series is to continue. Such a strange ending too which does make me think there will be a continuation.
