If it keeps this pace up all through the book i'll be exhausted by the end.
The first 8 or so pages gives you a very brief recap of War Cry set in 1938/39.
It then skips forward in time nearly 3 years to 1942 and gives you no explanation of the intervening years (at this point) or how Saffron got to be in the position she now finds herself in. Im sure this gap will be explained later in the book and all will become clear in the usual Wilbur Smith way. I wont say more so i dont spoil the story.
The flow of the writing isnt quite upto the the standard of Wilbur Smiths early solely written books, but i guess that's what happens when you have a co author and they follow the scripted outline but flesh it out. It then has their style of writing but with Wilburs characters. I find this is a small price to pay for having more of the stories in the masters mind unlocked and put onto paper. Enjoy the story, for the story and forgive the minor writing style differences from previous books.
