Reading the extract has left me with chills!! This book seems like it would be the ultimate page turner, something that would be impossible to put down.
The character and world building in the extract is phenomenal and the beginning really highlights and builds the suspense for the childhood trauma experienced by the main character.
I do wonder what the little boy thought was better than a lightsaber...
It would be so interesting to read on and find out how Gabriel's girlfriend is taken and how he begins to make links and face his past, which going by the extract, is nothing short of extremely traumatic.
The dynamic between Gabriel and Liz is interesting, there is clearly some sort of dysfunction in their relationship but he still obviously loves her.
