Whilst this book isn't one of the best thrillers I have ever read, it starts of with an engaging opening that leaves you clinging on for more.
The book begins following 9 year old Gabriel as he witnesses a terrible event and tries to come to terms with what he is seeing. The events prove disturbing to an adult reader, so you really feel for the child. Fast forward 29 years and he is still troubled by the events of his youth.
The chapters change characters which allows for an exploration into different perspectives but does not provide enough insight for you to deeply connect with the characters.
