Daughter of Darkness is a fabulous introduction of the world of Greek mythology. Usually genre that can get quite confusing with a lot of similar names & specialist knowledge this book manages to escape these pitfalls & take the reader on an adventure through the underworld.
The characters are wonderfully developed throughout the story, revealing more of themselves & their pasts as they travel together. These revelations changed my perspective of them, with some winning me over & others making me angry. Our main character Deina is feisty & flawed which is a brilliant combination.
Remembering this is a YA read there are appropriate levels of peril as our characters battle for their lives & face down hurries they weren't expecting, including their own histories.
