Thanks to ReadersFirst for a copy of this book in return for an honest review!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! If you are fan of books involving Greek mythology, YA fantasy, a cast of characters coming together to complete an ‘impossible’ task and strong female leads, this is definitely one I would recommend. This book follows Deina, a witty heroine you’ll quickly root for, who journeys into the underworld to attempt to earn her freedom by restoring the dead queen to life. The setting of the underworld made the book so interesting and I appreciated all the Greek lore the authors worked in as it’s a personal interest of mine. All of the characters, from Deina to her companions to small side characters, were very well-written and believable and I enjoyed various character’s growth and development throughout the book.

The start of the book serves as an introduction to Deina and her world, but the plot quickly speeds up and becomes fast paced and action packed. As well as the adventure/quest element of the storyline, there are also a lot of heartfelt moments and twists in the narrative. Overall, it was an extremely easy and enjoyable read and I can’t wait to read the sequel!
