I love all things Greek and Roman mythology! I was not at all surprised that I loved this book. It's about a group of soul servers, sent on a quest by Orpheus to the underworld, to bring back the soul of his deceased wife and return her to the living. However, all is not quite as it seems and there are adventures and betrayals on the way and not everybody makes it out alive.
I loved this book, full of mythology and fantasy at the same time being a fast paced adventure. There is an undercurrent of romance but it's not a focus of the story and is "clean", unlike many recent books which are full of graphic encounters.
Ultimately this was an easy and fun read. I loved the characters and the story kept me engaged the whole way through. I'm looking forward to future books from Katharine and Elizabeth Corr in the same vein. There's definitely a follow up novel as this is book 1 of 2 in the House of Shadows series.
