Daughter of Darkness, steeped in Greek mythology and full of fascinating characters, is a beautifully drawn and captivating opening of an irresistibly enchanting new Duology from the writers of A Throne of Swans, Katherine and Elizabeth Corr.
This was a fantastic read! The worldbuilding was so deep and intricate that I was completely lost in this ancient world of gods, monsters, and tyrant monarchs. It's a vague retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice story that I found really interesting. I enjoyed how action-packed and plot-twisty it was, and the people we met were all so well-developed. There were also a lot of nice personalities.
I liked the characters and the mythology weaved throughout the story, and I'm excited to see where this series goes; nevertheless, this first installment was sluggish and lackluster, hinting at more excitement, romance, adventure, and character and storyline development but not truly achieving the target.
