I really enjoyed this book it got going really quickly despite my initial reservations. Our hero or villain is Deina of Lolkos who was raised in a house with others to be soul severers under the house of hades. She volunteers for a quest on behalf of Orpheus the king. Deina Theron Drex and Aster believe they will be facing whatever awaits them in the underworld alone until Chryse Deina’s friend is offered an opportunity by Orpheus. The underworld brings many hurdles for the group and they find Eurydice the kings wife who refuses to go with them. They then find Hades who tells them the truth about themselves and each other and offers them assistance out of the underworld. On escaping they realise it’s all been a trap and Chryse has betrayed them and been assisting Orpheus all along. Deina needs another plan to escape but sees no way out without Nat’s assistance. Nat helps Deina and she is able to make sure that fate changes course but not necessarily for the better. I am intrigued to read the sequel great book highly recommended
