I just absolutely loved the plot of this book and the take on Greek mythology which also had me learning something new!
Deina is a soul severer, tied to the house of Hades, but what she wants most in the world is her freedom so when an opportunity arises to earn that freedom she jumps at the chance although she has to travel into the Underworld to do it to retrieve the body of Eurydice. She journeys alongside Theron, a boy who used to be her friend but now taunts and challenges her any chance he gets. Drex, a quiet boy who is able to Read when others can't and Aster, a strong warrior.
This isn't just a journey or a task Deina undertakes, it is a test, of her strength, of her character, of her friendships and also a test for the other characters too.
Don't get me started on Chryse, she to me, is a naive character, gullible and guileless.
All in all I loved it and couldn't stop reading. I can't wait for Queen of God's!! And I absolutely loved Nat too.
