I really enjoyed this clever reimagining of Greek myth. The retelling of Ancient Greek myths is very in vogue right now but this particular tale is original and engaging. The characters are well thought out and you immediately begin to identify with them. I particularly enjoyed the way the Underworld was portrayed along with the various trials and obstacles encountered there. They will be familiar to anyone who has read other Greek mythology stories but done in a way that keeps it fresh and interesting. There were times that I thought the dialogue jarred slightly or I would have liked to have seen slightly more backstory for some characters, however… this is a book I would happily read again and I’m very much looking forward to the next instalment. I think the Corr sisters are excellent authors and I really enjoyed their other books.
