This was actually quite different then what I was thought it was going to be. It was advertised as a mystery thriller but I found it to actually be a slow unfolding family drama with a hint of mystery surrounding Zelda's supposed death.

Ava returns home after receiving an email about her sister dying in a barn fire. The story unfolds as to why Ava left, and introduces other characters such as her mum Nadine, a woman with dementia who relies on alcohol and pills to get through her day, and Marlon her estranged dad who returns when he learns about Zelda's death, after leaving years earlier for another family. You learn very quickly that Ava is not overly convinced that her sister is dead. After all Zelda is her twin, and she's the one who knows her the most. Isn't she?

Although I enjoyed the storyline and it kept me interested the whole way through, the constant alcohol references and all the characters dependencies on alcohol annoyed me.
And as for the ending....well you're just gonna have to read it yourself.....
