The cover of this book is beautiful and eerie. Anything slightly alternative will always attract my attention hence my desire to have a copy of this book.

Ava and Zelda are twins, have always been close and loved to play games. This is where their competing got the better of their emotions and they would wage war on one another to be crowned triumphunt even if it meant hurting one another (sometimes physically).

Flash forward two years and Ava is on her way back to her hometown which she avoided so long ago, running from her problems, her mothers deteriorating health, the failing family business, a father who left them and her twin who betrayed her by sleeping with Wyatt, Avas childhood sweetheart.

Ava received an email from her mother stating that her dearest sister Zelda has died. Having processed this news she has been forced to go back to her home town, to her roots, to face everything head on with letters Zelda has left for her. A game. To see this time who will come out the victor. The alphabet, begin with A (ava) and end with Z (Zelda) it has to be this way.

After reading this book, I really couldn't believe how everything panned out. It was an eye opener, to see how other families cope with illness amongst other things and to see the harsh realities of being dependent on alcohol and prescription drugs. I didn't want the book to end but it did and I can't say I was happy with the outcome. I was left a little disappointed but maybe that was the point, not to know for definite what happened to Zelda. To leave you pondering on those details. It is quite clever really but deeply frustrating.
