I enjoy reading police procedural crime novels.
Kommissar Eschenbach reminds me of Donna Leon's Inspector Brunetti or TVs Colombo in his laid back understated ways of dealing with his colleagues and witnesses.
I note that this book was written in 2006 and there are some areas where this shows - entry to the Swiss Bank was made by holding a magnetic card to a Perspex plaque(!) and I had to look up the phrase 'on the DL' as it wasn't familiar to me (it was apparently used by black homosexuals in the USA who were still in the closet but the phrase obviously didn't become widely used).
The cover doesn't really attract me - a picture of the Zurich skyline with the Swiss flag or a cuckoo clock/Swiss flag would have been more significant.
Nevertheless, I am looking forward to reading this and the 3 subsequent books in the series.
