I like the style of the writing, although occasionally it is obvious that it is translated from another language. The characters are well observed, making me want to know more about them. The plot does not initially seem very original, but perhaps this becomes more interesting as the book continues. I would not mind reading the rest, but I also would not mind not reading it. I'm not immediately hooked.
