mediocre plot

i found the story slow and the characters did not form easily in my mind. also i found that i could put the book down and a long time to pass before i picked up the book again. there is a twist to the story and i will not give to much away. the writing was good but again the names of the characters were to me hard to remember throughout the story. i found myself forever going back to remember the characters. the story line is based in Zurich and some of the names were difficult for me to pronounce.
I am not sure that i will warm to inspector Eschenbach as i have with other detective books.
the book cover was eye-catching and well presented.
overall for me a mediocre story that did not fully grip me
