Really excited to read this as I just finished Defy the Stars and definitely did not have enough of Noemi and Abel. In this extract, I was really happy to see both our main characters are back and, while a little older and wiser, are still recognizably the characters I fell in love with in the first book. I liked that Abel is branching out and living more of a full life, after three decades floating through space. I also really liked the sneak peek of the next possible creation to come in the mech-world and the ethical questions organic mechs with the ability to reproduce raises, especially when we already have one mech who has developed a soul. Is the line between humans and mechs being blurred even further? Am absolutely desperate to read more!
