From what I've read of this and the first book in the series (including this excerpt), I am going to love this series. I just know it - the characters and narrative are not what I was expecting at all! I expected this to be focused on a love interest/relationship, based off of the UK cover for the first book, but this excerpt has definitely suggested to me that the characters are individual and I cannot wait to meet them.
