The first few chapters of the book...
Total honesty, I struggled with this story. I read the first few chapters of this book three times in order for the story to makes sense. I found that there were a lot of characters with alternative features that I needed to remember and, what with the very unique situation, it was a lot to initially get my head around.
The reason for this is that this book is the second of the trilogy, I haven't read the first which meant that there was a lot of explanations in the first that perhaps was only brushed over in the second.
After this, though, I found that I was getting to grips with the storyline and I quite liked it. Still, there are references that I'm not understanding- usually, the new characters introduced, reasons for situations and the emphasis on what's happening.
I'm interested in the decision the group will make and the repercussions of this. I am very curious about Serena's daughter and her relationship with her mother.
I would recommend this book to people interested in fantasy storylines.
