I thought this story was very intriguing because it mixed romance and sci fi together (which are actually two of my favourite genres). The main antagonist being powerful enough to become Vice President of the USA provides a greater insight on the challenges that the 12 space travellers have to go through and creates a major sense of tension and anticipation for what it is about to come. I also love the way that Dixon wrote about 12 main characters who are diverse and come from quite different but similar backgrounds, as it helped me connect with them as I found it to be more relatable. Additionally, the protagonist (Leo) being a strong female lead, made me adore this story even more because her intelligence and integrity makes her so inspiring for any woman who reads this story. I hope everyone else feels the same way about this novel as well.
