Judith is back, she has set up her own wee shop, still into her paintings when she is contacted to undertake a job, art related of course. Judith tries to decline but ends up having to find a painting that sets her off on a dangerous journey. Up against some ruthless people, killers, the more money involved the higher the stakes but Judith is smart, ruthless and will kill if and when she needs to.

So I read book one and didn't love it but if I get invested in a story I want to see what will happen next, hence buying/reading this. It is really out there but a strong female lead will always get points as too often the women are either fainting or shrinking violets. This is not Judith, she devours lovers as the whim takes her, she will kill if needs must. She has worked hard to get to this point and she won't have someone just take it from her. I think this book does see Judith a lot less confident, a bit more, dare I say it, vulnerable when compared to book one.

The book itself splits between some very graphic sexual content, bad language, threats, blood, violence and murder so not for the easy offended. If you haven't read book one I think you could start with this one but probably better to read book one so you know the whole back story. 2.5/5 for me this time, the book it set up for book three so despite not loving this or the first book I do need to buy book three for closure and to see where it all goes. So many people seemed to love this series so absolutely give it a whirl, just be prepared for some off the wall stuff and very colourful (blue) sexual content. Oh the other thing I meant to say, I am not big on art or paintings but I did pick up a few things along the way and learned a new artist which I went off and read about.
