The idea of the Benson family and how Daisy came to be adopted by them and how their future daughter will be adopted seems like it could make for an interesting story. Likewise that the story has been set up like this so we know some details about ‘the crime’ and those who have committed it before we know about the detectives and how they come to be involved in the case.
However, something in the telling of the story didn’t quite appeal to me. I had too many questions but not in a way that I thought could be easily answered. I also wasn’t invested enough in the characters to want to find out what happened next.
