The story follows the Bensons, a normal family. You have Mummy, Daddy and a beautiful little girl called Daisy. The only problem is, Daisy isn't theirs.
This is a disturbing but gripping read and a very well written thriller. The author develops each character very well and we even understand more about Malcom and Harriet. The author is clearly a great writer with a very creative mind.
We're thrown right in at the beginning and this novel is instantly gripping. I enjoyed reading about DS Cody as he is a very likeable character. I also enjoyed reading about Daisy, the poor girl who is living with the Benson's. At times it was unbelievable that she was 10 years old as her narrative seemed wiser but in the novel the Benson's definitely underestimated her. I also love how the author has portrayed Malcom and Harriet and how the author allows us to get inside their minds and try to understand their way of thinking. Malcom truly believes that he is a caring man and Harriet is completely dependent on him. These are some very original characters and you won't be bored reading this one.
Don't Make a Sound is the third instalment in the DS Nathan Cody series. This is my first time reading a book in this series and I enjoyed it so much that I think I will read the others in this series. I would recommend this truly dark and disturbing read to all crime and thriller fans.
