Not long after I started this book, I realised it was part of series and wondered if I was going to struggle to know the characters and their past. But I needn't have worried, this stands alone as a great book, although I'm sure it would be enhanced by reading the novels that come before it in the series.
Some of the chapters are written from the point of view of the captured girls, trapped in the room, and this reminded by a lot of Emma Donoghue's Room.
Essentially this was a game of cat and mouse. You know the perpetrator and you're eager to see if they will get found out, and how it will come about.
It was really well handled and their was a twist at the very end that I didn't see coming.
A great read!
