Don't Make A Sound is the third of a series focused around the work of DS Nathan Cody. I haven't read the first two, and although some nuances were a little lost on me as a result, this book still works well as a stand alone novel.

The plot is remarkably fast-paced, hard-hitting, and very gripping, I couldn't put it down!

However I didn't love it - there were some small but noticeable plot inconsistencies (a character ages two years overnight, and others are on occasion called by the wrong name) and some of the dialogue sounds quite forced and doesn't flow particularly naturally.

Overall, though, this didn't necessarily detract from what is a cleverly put together story full of unexpected twists and turns.
