The principal thread of this story is the abduction of three little girls by a seriously deranged couple. This was quite chilling, but really compelling which had me holding my breath, praying for a happy outcome for the children. Then there was another thread which concentrated on the two CID officers assigned to the case, and their close relationship. Add to that a very unexpected twist at the end and it all adds up to a real page turner, which had me reading until very late one night.
The characters were all skilfully brought to life, and I liked the way the book was constructed, with quite short chapters that enticed you to keep reading (not that I needed much enticing)! This was a really good read.
