Dr Alex Taylor wakes up strapped to an operating table with no idea how she got there. She hears a mans voice asking her what the word no means. She only knows that his questions have sinister consequences and then is unconscious.

She wakes again in hospital surrounded by her concerned colleagues. She describes her ordeal and isn't believed. Not even by her boyfriend.

Then several weeks later a pregnant nurse goes missing for days and when she turns up in a bad way and no longer pregnant her last words trigger the same alarm that Alex herself experienced.

As the weeks go on and the bodies rack up, they're all linked to Alex in some way.

Is she a victim of a serial killer? Or delusional, unstable and a killer herself?

This was a fantastic thriller, that really ups the ante towards the end. I suspected everyone at some point!

As debut novels go, this is an absolute corker. You felt Alex's fear, you become frustrated with her when she turns to drink, and resent her nearest and dearest for treating her so poorly.

I highly recommend this book, you will want to read at breakneck speed to figure out this mystery.

I would like to thank Readers First & Bonnier Zaffre for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
