My sister and I chose this book as our monthly buddy read. This thriller sounded right up our allies and had been sitting on our shelf for a good while. Neither of us made it past the fourteen percent mark.

The writing seemed weak, and the dialogue seemed unrealistic and fake. It wasn't an enjoyable fourteen percent, and both of us were happy to stop reading and unhaul the book.

The author also struggles to show just how bad their character is without having to turn to kill animals which to me shows bad writing. The bad guy kills rats in hopes of him being disliked, which does its job, but it just doesn't sit right with me when authors use awful acts to cover bad writing.

Another thing we both disliked about this book was the way the author told the reader what was going on, instead of showing them. I just feel this is another example of bad writing.
