This book carries notes for the reader to ensure it is delivered with some knowledge behind what the book is trying to achieve. Without this, the book could quite easily be breezed through and the desired positive effect not experienced.

I have had to consider why I would choose to share this book with youngsters over other titles that can offer more of a story to follow while practising mindfulness techniques. A lot rests on the reader to make the most of this book. Good timing of when the book is shared will ensure the listener is calm and responsive to the message.

I think that the illustrations are calming and depict animals that children can enjoy identifying and discussing. The 'story' follows animals as they settle down to sleep with the breathing technique included alongside the sensory input described. Overall, a nice introduction to mindfulness if delivered in the correct manner.
