This is a good book for children who are just starting to get to grips with reading. The repetition will help to grasp new words and sentences. The illustrations are beautiful and help to show a variety of exotic animals. However, whilst I understand the writing needs to be simple and repetitive I think it could have made more effort into teaching children about different animals. this would have helped it to stand out more from other books on the market.
I understand that the book is about mindfulness and the activities are appropriate for helping children to be calmer, but I also think a more educational element would have not gone amiss. What is so special about some animals? What makes them unique? Thus, it could have taught children about the importance of being different.
The vibrant colours and images will make this very eye-catching to young children.
