Richard is a world famous pianist, Karina his ex wife who sacrificed her own chance of stardom to become his wife and mother to their daughter Grace. Grace has now moved out of her mother's home to attend college and Karina is filled with the empty feeling of chances lost.
Then Karina hears that Richard has been diagnosed with ALS and is at first curious as to how this has affected him both physically and emotionally. What she finds is a man who is raging at the illness and the effect that it has had on his very controlled and controlling life. Despite this Karina is torn as to whether she should support Richard or walk away from him and the memories of how he treated her throughout their marriage.
