After having read Still Alice I knew what to expect from this book as the author tackles very sensitive subjects so knew I wasn't in for a feel good read! This time the book focuses on ALS and the effects this has not only on the sufferer himself but also those closely involved with him. It gives a good fictionalised account of the way such a disease can effect many people. she has obviously researched the subject matter well as there are sometimes quite graphic descriptions of how the muscles can be affected and she also pays reference to Stephen Hawkings . I found the main character Richard not a very likeable person which did put me off a bit at first but as the book progresses you do get to see how relationships develop and wants you to read more . Overall a good book.
