I really gained a lot from reading this book. It makes me reflect on the simple things in life I took for granted - my health, the freedom to roam around my house without assistance, the ability to breathe, the piano lessons I took as a kid. A novel that is written exceptionally well. It was able to emotionally engaged me with its characters. I feel so greatly attached to the story and it felt like I was witnessing the whole event. I was gaining life lessons while reading, and I was glued to the book. Lots of research was conducted to make this book as realistic as possible while ensuring that readers understand ALS much better through Richard, a person with the illness himself. This book spread awareness while showing a great deal of care, love, comfort, forgiveness, and also the truth, no matter how heart-breaking.
