Every Note Played is a heartbreaking story involving a great amount of soul searching, forgiveness and second chances.
The main character, Richard is a highly accomplished concert pianist who has been given the devestating diagnosis of A.L.S. Richard is portrayed as an extremely unlikeable character at the beginning of the book, divorced from his wife after having multiple affairs and a daughter who has chosen to have nothing to do with him for the past year. However with his health rapidly declining he is left with no choice but to return home to his exwife, Karina to allow her to help take care of him.
Regardless of Richard appearing so unlikeable at the begining the writer has a unique way of drawing you in and really making you feel for him as the A.L.S slowly takes over his body. The writer has an amazing way of making you feel like your involved in Richard's journey causing it to tug at your heart strings throughout.
Every Note Played is so much more than the story of someone facing a horrendous illness. It is a captivating and soul searching journey which had me hooked the whole way through!
