So I read this just a little while after the death of Stephen Hawking, which immediately made the story all the more poignant. I love that, while the book revolves around ALS, the characters each have very real issues unrelated to this, which they have to resolve together throughout the book. This storyline was in a way almost as big as the ALS storyline, which gave the book a connection with the readership and also allowed a breather from the heavy illness stuff. It's really opened my eyes to the struggles people with ALS face, and of course, I had a good little cry at one point. I highly recommend this book and will be looking at other books by the same author for future reads. Loved it.
