I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this novel- certainly once I started to read it, it had more depth than its cover suggested.
I found the moving constantly between characters and times quite distracting, it made the story lose impetus and connection with the reader. There were obviously mysteries but my many unanswered questions were not resolved during the extended build up, before the ultimate exposé.
The concept of the book is one that I do find interesting. Uni friends going their separate ways & then coming back & wondering just what they ever had in common, or if there still is and was always something between them.
Ms Crowther, writes some lovely evocative descriptions, but for me it just wasn’t my type of novel.
