I wanted to read this book as it is set in the Lake District - an area I love. However, not much of the book is based there.
I found the way the book is written slightly confusing as the chapters flit backwards and forwards throughout the years and also each chapter is dealing with a different character in that year, so you have to pay careful attention to the title at the beginning of the chapter.
It got better towards the end when we came to present day and the reason for the book and the characters coming together again became clear, at last.
Not sure if I would choose this author again if all her books are written in this way.
It did not come to a definitive conclusion - there is a lot of opportunity to see what happens to the characters in the future and could make a good follow-up book.
