The female protagonist of Eyes Like Mine is a mysterious and vulnerable private investigator. Few clues are offered about her past in the first chapters, other than that she has a daughter who was given up for adoption at birth. It transpires that the that daughter has 'run away' from her adoptive parents, who approach the protagonist for help. It looks like the chapters will flit between the voices of mother and daughter. The first few chapters were intriguing enough to leave me wanting to read on, though it took me a little while to get into the flow of the story.
It would definitely appeal to fans of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl, as it says on the cover of the book.
