From the title and cover of the book I assumed the description would entail a murder of sorts, it might be part of the story but there doesn't seem to be any indication of that.
Writing about sexual assault and rape especially in context of the law is incredibly sensitive and difficult to address so I hope it has maintained a level of reverence appropriate. For the description I am very intrigued by who the man is and what he knows of the lawyer, however, like suggested by the caption on the front cover and the blood spattered lightbulb it is likely she has killed someone.
In my opinion, disclosing the information that she knows who the defendant is too much information for a brief summary of the book as it appears to be an intrinsic plot twist and whilst people's interpretations may not be true I do feel discouraged to purchase books when I can sometimes make my own assumptions on what is to come.
Also there is clearly literal inaccuracies in terms of the legal world and yet again I stress that I hope the author has dealt with these difficult matters responsibly. I would be thoroughly disappointed if it is a book littered with victim blaming and disbelief of the alleged victim as many books on crime about sexual assault are as they paint the accused as undergoing a redemption arc.
