False Witness follows Leigh, a lawyer with a past she would rather keep buried. Unfortunately, someone from her past comes out of the woodwork and she’s forced to find her estranged sister.
I am an avid thriller fan, but shockingly, I’ve never before read a novel by Karin Slaughter (although I do have some on my to be read pile). This has definitely convinced me to get more of Karin’s books. The writing was flawless and really drew me into the story. I found myself thinking about the characters even when I wasn’t reading. They almost felt like old friends.
I found myself not wanting this book to end. I loved that it was set in current times, with discussions of the impact of Covid. I haven’t read any other books that have done this yet. It added another layer of reality. At times I found myself loosing focus, but my life is very busy at the moment so I think that is why.
I will absolutely be getting more books by Karin Slaughter, I would recommend this book to any thriller fans! However, there are topics in this book that people may find extremely triggering so I would warn people to approach with caution.
