This is Karin Slaughters latest book and it is very clear why she has been a top author for as many years as she has. This latest book is a stand alone thriller that had me hooked from the start. It has an eye catching cover that will instantly appeal to the crime fiction reader. False witness is often an uncomfortable read but it is relevant to the thread that goes through the story. Leigh is asked to help in a case that brings up too much of her past and threatens her future. She has managed to carve out a new life allowing herself to have a perfect family and job while leaving her past very much in the past. When she is asked to defend someone from her past it becomes clear that this is far more than a coincidence. If you enjoy reading this book then you are in for a treat as there is a large back catalogue of books to read many of them are a series that is well worth a read.
