Leigh is brought into a case to defend a rapist but she knows the man. She used to babysit him when younger as did her sister but something terrible happened back then. Could he know and if he does what does that mean for her and Callie.
I love Karin Slaughter so this was always going to be a winner for me. It was a bit of a slow start and took me a little while to get into it but by the end I was hooked. The story is interesting and does get you thinking. Leigh is not the most likeable but by the end you want her to succeed. In fact most of the characters are not likeable but they have their reasons Callie especially. The ending was well done and perfect for the story. I liked the very last couple of lines. They were just the right way to end the book. The writing is well done and descriptive, you really get a sense of each location. A dark, well written thriller by a brilliant writer who always delivers.
