This book reminded me why I love Karin Slaughters books. Her books were probably one of my first forays into crime thrillers in my early 20’s but I’ve not read one of her books in years and I’ve no idea why she is a genius! I’ll certainly be trying to catch up on her books I’ve missed after finishing this one in just two days. I could barely put it down.
Everything about this story was simply brilliant, the two main characters are so well fleshed out and interesting that you can’t help but like them despite their obvious flaws. The characters in the sidelines like the vet and Walter were lovely and such a contrast to the truly evil characters of Buddy and Andrew. A very clever and twisty read with many nasty characters a satisfying and emotional ending. Everything you could possibly want in a good book!
