I've loved and read all of Karin Slaughter's books but this honestly felt like one of her best. It may be a standalone thriller, but it's no less thrilling than any Will Trent masterpiece.

'False Witness' follows Leigh Collier and like any Slaughter book, it is deeply mysterious, intensely thrilling and so past-paced you feel like you're on a rollercoaster at 200mph whilst also seemingly flowing gently down a river just because of how well-written they are.

There is never any waste in any of her books and this is no exception. We move swiftly between all the action and nothing important ever feels left out. We are told what we need to know only and following Leigh's story as it twists and turns makes for a great ride.

Despite there being dark and disgusting parts of human nature, Slaughter still manages to show the wonderful sides of how humans cope, how they live with one another and how they care for each other.
