Liked the sound of this book but I was amazed at how good it actually was. The writing was superb and I honestly couldn't put it down. It reminded me of The Lincoln Lawyer with the beginning of the story, defendant picks a lawyer to defend them for an ulterior motive, and this was even better. I must admit I hadn't read any of Karin Slaughter's books before but I will be looking them up as I loved the writing style.
The story revolves around the rapist Andrew, his lawyer Leigh as well as her sister primarily. There is a lot of background info given and you really get a feel for the characters story but it doesn't detract from the present, just makes the 'now' more real. I won't give the game away but obviously there is the accused and how he was coming to his trial but his lawyer has to defend him knowing that he is guilty. Their background story is believable and the events that unfold really make a great read.
