This is my first Karin Slaughter book and it definitely wont be my last. I was totally drawn into the this story from the first page when Leigh and her sister Callie where just young girls and starting a babysitting job. They haven’t had the best start in life, they are growing up in a difficult neighbourhood and with a mother who doesn’t really mother them. I really like the way the author develops the characters it fells like you really get to know them very well.
Also the story is set in the past year during the coronavirus pandemic, i think it is great that she has made it up to date and included this massive part of history that we are alll still living through. I was quite surprised at this she describes us all social distancing and wearing masks which is great reminder of all that we have been through.
I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for an up to date exciting read.
