Well, this was a bit of a rollercoaster for me! For a lot of the book I wanted to give up; it's not my favourite genre and so much of the story is quite bleak.

However, from about the middle onwards, I did get hooked in and needed to know how things would end.

The story centres around sisters Leigh and Callie, and how their past catches up with them. It's a hard hitting storyline; murder, rape, child abuse, drug taking - like I said - not my usual go to for a relaxing read. But it is an interesting read.

This is also the first book I've read which has been set during the Covid pandemic. It doesn't form part of the story really, but is there in the backdrop, reminding us how it continually impacts on our day to day life.

Whilst I know the author is well known, I hadn't read any of her previous books, so didn't know what to expect really. I can't say I enjoyed it (too grim for me), but it's well written and well paced.
