To me this is exactly what I have come to expect of a Karin Slaughter novel.
Shocking beginning which absolutely draws you in to the point where you cannot put the book down!
A key characteristic of a good Karin Slaughter novel is the shock factor and this book certainly did not disappoint in that area!
The bulk of the story was enjoyable and engaging, however, something that took me by surprise was the age of the main character. There were plenty of twists and turns throughout the story and I kept guessing incorrectly on a number of pages
I felt as though the ending stretched incredulity, was slightly far-fetched and I didn't see how it was possible. Having said that, if you enjoy it for the spectacle it is, that takes nothing away from the entertainment factor of the book.
Overall I felt this was a highly enjoyable story, definitely recommend to friends and family, however for a true Karin fan, I think the Will Trent stories are slightly superior. Many thanks for the opportunity to review this book from one of my all time favourite authors.
